Habit Relapse: The Fastest Way to Get Back on Track…
Often times we’ll be doing so good with our eating habits and workout routines until… BAM.. a Holiday or Celebration hits. We (over)indulge in sugars and carbs, we start skipping our workouts, and day by day we slowing become more lenient with what we put into our mouth. Before we know it… we’ve “fallen and we can’t get back up!”
OBVIOUSLY these aren’t the desired habits, thoughts & behaviors that are aligned with us feeling the way we want to feel in our body.
What I’ve described above, is also called a Habit Relapse. It happens. And guess what else happens? Frustration. The key is to get you out of this emotion as soon as possible!!!
According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, frustration means a state of insecurity and dissatisfaction arising from unresolved problems or unfulfilled needs.
Frustration can also mean- defeat, disappointment & let down.
There are several reasons why we want to get out of this emotional state immediately!
#1. It just doesn’t feel good.
#2. Being frustrated can lead to being stuck. This emotion can be dangerous and a threat to our progress. When we’re frustrated, we could end up doing some pretty damaging things, like emotional eating …that’s why I want to make sure we get you back to feeling good ASAP!

After a relapse…
Have you ever felt so frustrated you just wanted to cry (binge eat, or both)? I’m talking about the type of frustration that leaves you feeling so defeated and hopeless that you just don’t know what to do?

*Each time a habit relapse happens, ask yourself, was there any progress made from the last habit relapse? For example: Perhaps you didn’t eat as much food this binge as last, or maybe you didn’t take as many days off from your workouts like last time. THAT’S PROGRESS!
TAKE ACTION NOW:
Each time we F.A.I.L, (hopefully), we learn and grow. We can acknowledge what triggers us & what habits no longer serve us. Next step is to get curious about it. Do you even remember what triggered you to relapse in the first place? For instance, why did I engage in a behavior that is not aligned with me feeling the way I want to feel in my body? How did this happen? And Last, Seek Out Solutions. If I could prevent this from happening again in the future, how would I handle this differently?
